Twenty-five of Our Favorite Places

​Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens may be a few of Julie Andrews favorite things, but those that know me understand I look at things from a travel perspective… so I just wanted to shout out some of my FAVORITE PLACES!
Many times, I have clients call my office to ask “where can I go on vacation- I just can’t come up with a good place…can you help?” This always prompts many questions such as – do they want to travel within driving distance, or do they want to fly?  Do they want to travel domestically or internationally?  Then all the questions about whether they have current passports that will not expire within 6 months of their return date, and if they are fully vaccinated or not…. Etc.  Some forms of travel are now requiring that you are fully vaccinated so this is an important question to ask.  Cruises and some tours are requiring their guests to be fully vaccinated. Some islands, such as the Turks and Caicos are requiring all visitors to be fully vaccinated and have them download the proof to be accepted to come.  Needless to say – these questions are necessary to find out which area they will even be ALLOWED to visit! 
When the questions come up as to where MY favorite places to visit are, I have a long list….  but here are a few….
 

1. Dubai and Maldives – best trip I have ever taken- can’t say enough about it- do not even ASK to see my pictures!
2. Canada- Lake Louise, Banff, and ending in Calgary- breathtaking scenery
3. Bora Bora – I did this one with a Paul Gauguin cruise- also breathtaking scenery
4. New Zealand and Australia – can hardly even discuss how wonderful it was to see the countryside where they filmed the Lord of the Rings and pet kangaroos!
5. Santorini and Mykonos and Athens-incredible Island formations and scenery and eating on a rooftop restaurant overlooking the Acropolis was fabulous.
6.  Hawaii- cruising from island to island and watching lava flow into the ocean
7. Arenal area of Costa Rica- waking up each morning drinking coffee on my porch with a view of the volcano. 
8. Turks and Caicos – most gorgeous beach and bright blue water
9. Fishing in the Dominican Republic – catching marlin, sailfish, and winning the fish tournament for our captain
10. Driving the coast of California from Carmel to Napa and of course, wine tasting
11. BERMUDA- my happy place!
12. Italy- Rome, Florence, Lake Como, and of course the Amalfi coast
13. Paris, Cannes, St. Tropez- my favorite French areas
14. Roaming all around Ireland and Scotland and kissing the Blarney Stone
15. London and all the “touristy stuff “
16. Doing the entire Beatles trail in Liverpool
17. Monaco- the Princess Grace tour and of course, the Casino in Monte Carlo
18. St. Lucia- scariest ride of my life headed to Jade Mountain
19. The Azores- beauty beyond belief
20. Barcelona- Gaudi architecture and great Paella
21. Alaskan cruise- beautiful scenery, whale watching, and fishing
22. San Antonio- fun Riverwalk area
23. Scottsdale for Thanksgiving at the Scottsdale Princess- best Christmas decorations
24. Jamaica for a carefree beachfront long weekend
25. St. Simons, of course!

 
I certainly have many more fun places, but those just happened to pop in my mind for the list.  I wish this article had a place for all of you to name your favorites!   Traveling is such a great opportunity to make memories for a lifetime! Safe travels!
